Last month, I wrote a very honest Instagram post that sparked some awesome conversations.
This is what it said:
"It's okay to have a bad day! Feeling moody? Irritated? Annoyed? Things not going your way? Said something you "shouldn't have"? It's okay! We often try to chase away our bad days and attempt to force the day in a better direction... Yet no matter what... It seems the day only gets worse! Am I right? That's why I say, if you're having a bad day -- it's ok. You're human. Let it be. Welcome the "bad day", don't resist it, flow with it. Tell yourself: it's okay, I'm okay. Love yourself even when you're having a bad day and see what happens."
As a result, so many of you reached out and personally messaged me to say how it came at the perfect time and expressed that you could relate.
The response I got made me realise how much pressure we place on ourselves to always be in a "good, positive mood" all of the time. Instead of letting ourselves truly feeeeeel, we attempt to chase away "bad days" with positive thoughts or affirmations. You know you've done it!
But it doesn't work, does it? So, here's my advice on how to handle a bad day and one thing you can do to improve your mood instantly. Hint: take the pressure off!
Once you've had a chance to watch, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment and let me know:
- What are your tricks for turning around a bad day?
- Have you tried the technique I mentioned in the video? Tell me how it changed your day!
