I admit, I used to be a little naive.
Before I started my business, I had this perception that once it would be up and running, I would be so inspired every single moment of each day.
And as much as I loooooove my business, there are some days where I just feel like all of my inspiration and motivated has been sapped. But as they say, the show must go on!
So what do I do when I feel this way? I share 4 things that I do to get my inspiration back in my video below.
1. Think about dying
Yup, totally! I don't want to get to my death bed wishing that I didn't give up. Do you? Candy Chang said in her TedTalk "Before I die I want to..." that thinking about death clarifies your life. I couldn't agree more. Watch her TedTalk here.
2. Creep people I admire
I love listening to the stories of other people. Especially stories of overcoming adversity and challenges. Here are a few links to some of my favourite resources for inspiration:
3. Turn to quotes
“The difference between those who WANT and those who HAVE is that one kept going while the other stopped.” Anonymous
“If you don’t build your dream life, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs” - Tony Gaskins
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
4. Take a break!
Normally the only times that I don't feel inspired is when I've worked for days and days straight with no break. As much as possible, I try to take the weekends off. My husband and I also try to take mini-getaways as much as possible. This allows me to have time to daydream and problem solve in a much more creative way than powering through more hours in front of my computer.
